Oxford’s 39 colleges and four permanent private halls are both an integral
part of the collegiate University and also independent, self-governing
academic communities. Diverse in age, size and scope, all contribute significantly
to the core activities of the University: learning and teaching;
research; and wider engagement with society.

The Conference Sustainability Working Group has produced this report on
biodiversity audits, which were carried out at participating colleges in
2021 and 2022. This report provides a baseline for tracking biodiversity
and our aim is to share information and good practice around biodiversity
in order to encourage positive change and wider engagement and collaboration
across the collegiate community.
With input from across the colleges and permanent private halls, the Conference Sustainability Working Group have produced a report summarising the actions that colleges are taking to become more environmentally sustainable. The report details the merits, successes and the challenges involved. It has been produced as a means of sharing information and good practice, and to inspire positive change and wider engagement amongst the collegiate community.
